AMENITIES: Horseback riding with guided excursion in the surrounding natural reserves, the nearby villages and the historical and archaeological sites. The ancient Monterano, a few KM from Manziana, is an abandoned village, still preserved on the volcanic plateau, used as scenary for famous moovies such as “Ben Hur” or “Brancaleone alle crociate”. To get to Monterano, you ride through suggestive exotic vegetation and rocky landscapes. The territory (1000 acres) is full of archaeological sites, such as the necropolis, and the animal life is varied and numerous. There are many itineraries from which to choose, and they all connect you to the various locations of interest, which in this area are definitely not lacking. Ask the owners for hiring horses and tours.

It overlooks the large, terraced swimming pool and lush garden where there are a barbeque and wood-burning stove. The surrounding formerly volcanic landscape is rich in outstanding Etruscan-Roman archeological sites and full of locations famous for their natural beauty: thermal waters, rivers, ravines, waterfalls, lakes and forests.
The location is ideal for riders that stop during their walks in the Regional Natural Reserves, as the Park of the Lakes Bracciano and Martignano, Canale Monterano, the Manziana's Wood with the Caldara thermal spring. And several itineraries that connect the Etruscan archaeological escavations. Guided excursions under request.

Situated 2KM far from Manziana, 30 Km NW of Rome, the B.& B. is in a hilly, wooded agricultural area, bordering on the local National Park of Bracciano – Martignano, which takes its name from the two volcanic lakes, one vast and one small, both ideal for swimming and water sports. The S.Severa and S.Marinella sea resorts are only 20 minutes drive away. The house is approximately half-way between Rome and Viterbo, both of which can easily be reached by direct train, Acotral bus or car in about one hour.
The hourly train takes you to St.Peter’s station near the Vatican City, in the heart of Rome.
